Working on this show as the primary designer, my signature bold and eccentric colors shone through the psychedelic and grand city of Monte Carlo. I wanted every scene—even casual ones—to have some level of boldness in its design.

As the Master Electrician, I was tasked with bringing new techniques to the show. My management had helped bring the lights from just three assets (Spots, manuals, and LEDs) to six (Stardrop, trees, and in-house lighting). I used unique methods to turn the stardrop into twinkling, multicolored stars with an all-manual setup.

As practice for understanding common optical illusions, I drew this piece. I discovered the primary elements that cause false movement: contrast, light, and shadow.

Your brain automatically follows light. When your brain interpolates multiple sources, it does not know what direction to follow.

This film breaks down the experience of dissociation by playing with the “raw sensory inputs” of multiple forms of light to enhance a magical feel.

The final segment replicates the spiraling colors that happen when a person closes their eyes.
